Recent legislative changes passed by Germany’s Bundesdag pave the way for German citizens to become dual citizens – including via Citizenship By Investment Programs. – as opposed to losing their German citizenship when naturalizing elsewhere.

The modernisation of the German Nationality Act (Staatsangehörigkeitsgesetz) takes effect on 26 June 2024. In addition to ending the ban on dual citizenship status in Germany, it also shortens the timeline to naturalization from 8 years to 5 years for certain qualifying applicants.

The legislative changes pertaining to dual citizenship mean that foreigners naturalizing in Germany no longer need to give up their native citizenship and passport to become citizens of another country.

It also means that German citizens, going forward, can unconditionally obtain alternative citizenships – including through Citizenship By Investment Programs such as the Vanuatu CBI and those offered by Malta, Turkey, Egypt and five Caribbean nations.

Given the fractious state of German politics, a tanking economy, and the looming prospect of war in Western Europe, we are already seeing a marked increase in enquiries from affluent Germans seeking fast, “uncorrelated” Plan B passports

In this regard, the Vanuatu Citizenship By Investment Program is an excellent option: The country is renowned as a tax-free destination boasting idyllic beaches, friendly locals, high levels of safety, and a low cost of living.

The country offers a safe, state-of-the-art banking system, and it is one of the most crypto-friendly jurisdictions in the world.

Its passport also offers visa-free access to Russia for up to 90 days, and Vanuatu citizens can get multiple re-entry Visitor Visas for Australia and New Zealand. Plus, given that German passport holders already enjoy visa-free access to the Schengen Area, Vanuatu’s recent suspension of visa-free access to Schengen is a moot point.

The entire Vanuatu Citizenship By Investment application process can be done 100% discretely and remotely. As an added benefit, the mandatory capital contribution only becomes payable after the applicant has been formally pre-approved for participation in the program.

(Only the  program due diligence fee of $5,500 is non-refundable.)

Feeling nervous about where things are heading in Europe?

We think you’ve got reason to be. In April of 2024, Ukraine stopped issuing passports to their male citizens of fighting age, and prevented Ukrainian men from renewing their passports while living abroad.

Could this development be coming to countries like Poland and Germany in the near future?

According to German Defence Minister Pistorius, “[Germany] must be ready for war by 2029.

A hot conflict in Europe before then can certainly not be ruled out. Would you really want to have only your German passport should that come to pass?

The Vanuatu Capital Investment Immigration Plan (CIIP), one of the top-selling CBI Program options for 2024, enables a family of 4  to become citizens of Vanuatu for just $155,000, inclusive of fees.

Add to that the fact that Vanuatu offers the fastest CBI program in the world in 2024 – with passports issued within as little as 45 days – and the program becomes a no-brainer option for Germans seeking to fire-proof their future.

So if you’re worried about Germany’s plans to make conscription mandatory and use subway stations as bunkers, you need to take action today.
